Campamento “Luz del Mundo” contribuye con la soberanía alimentaria del país
Atendiendo a la invitación del fundador y director de la Obra Evangélica Luz del Mundo Internacional, Hno. JaimeB. Puerta, el alcalde de Guanare, Rafael Calles, visitó recientemente el Campamento Luz del Mundo de Venezuela ubicado en el municipio Papelón, donde pudo constatar la experienciadel trabajo que ahí se viene desarrollando con la producción de hortalizas, casabe, leche, quesos,cría de gallinas ponedoras, pesca y ganadería.
En este campamento se erige un complejo eco agrícola productivo,donde también se fomenta el turismo campestre con la cría de avestruces. Para el mandatario municipal, este tipo de programas es motivo de orgullo en la entidad, ya que esta organización no solo predica la palabra de Dios, sino que además de eso contribuye con la producción nacional.
Reconoció que experiencias como estas son pocas en el país y por ello se convierte en un ejemplo, ya que desde una iglesia cristiana se promuevela soberanía alimentaria. “Pienso que casos como estos, demuestran al mundo que Venezuela es capaz de salir adelante y producir sus alimentos. Nuestro estado tiene las tierras necesarias para contribuir con el desarrollo sustentable de nuestra nación”, destacó.
En este sentido, manifestó su orgullo y satisfacción por el esfuerzo de esta organización cristiana en pro de la entidad. Consideró que este ejemplo debe multiplicarse en toda la región portugueseña y el país, ya que este campamento cuenta con hectáreas de terreno que son sembradas en diferentes plantas comestibles como yuca, topocho, plátano, cambur, auyama, caraotas, entre otros rubros de consumo y cuenta con lagunas para la cría de cachamas.
Por su parte el pastorBartolo Pérez, encargado de esta unidad de producción, relató que doce personas son quienes llevan adelante las labores de este centro, que está dirigido a la cría de ganadería, engorde y producción de 180 litros diarios de leche, la cual sirve para la elaboración de quesos y mantequilla de alta calidad. Asimismo, explicó que también están enfocados en la siembra de frutas y hortalizas, además de alimentos semi concentrados para la alimentación de los animales.
Por otro lado, explicó que en la piscicultura realizan la reproducción, levante y engorde de híbridos de morocotos y cachamas negras. En el caso de los avestruces, señaló que se está trabajando no solo en la cría sino también en la reproducción e incubación de esta especie, donde además cuentan con gallinas ponedoras. Asimismo, informó sobre el apiarioque cuenta con doce colmenas de abejas la cual aspira sacar pronto al mercado.
